Parndorf’s McArthurGlen Designer Outlet is about 40 minutes from Vienna by car, and there are three straightforward ways to get there: a direct shuttle, a train with a short bus ride, or a rental car.
In December 2025 we rented a car for one day for our shopping trip, with my husband driving. The shuttle and train details below come from the operators’ published information, so you can compare all three before you choose a date.
There isn’t one cheapest answer for every visitor. Compare the same date, the same group and the whole return trip: a per-car price can look expensive next to a single shuttle ticket, then look quite different once it’s shared.
At the advertised shuttle fare, two paying adults would pay €52 and four would pay €104. Those are comparison examples, not what our group paid or a guaranteed fare for your date.

Which one for you?
The BLAGUSS shuttle leaves from Opernring 3, opposite the Vienna Opera, and stops at the outlet. It runs Monday to Saturday, but not on public holidays.
Vienna Sightseeing advertises return tickets from €26 per person. Its terms bind you to the return departure booked with your outward journey, so choose that time before you start browsing. The seller asks passengers to arrive ten minutes before departure.
This is the straightforward option if the pick-up is convenient for your Vienna base and you’re happy with a set shopping window.
Timetable
Times as listed by BLAGUSS on 12 October 2026. Vienna Sightseeing’s FAQ shows slightly different return times, so go by what you see when you book.
Mind the last return. It leaves at 20:00 on weekdays, while the outlet stays open until 21:00 on Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturdays both close at 18:00.
Search for Parndorf Ort, not just “Parndorf”. ÖBB’s outlet information names that station and the onward bus to the centre, and the centre describes the final ride as about six minutes. That is the bus, not the whole trip from Vienna.
For a useful example, the VOR journey planner returned the connection shown here for Monday 12 October 2026. That is 47 minutes from Vienna’s main station to the outlet, including the interchange, before your own journey to Hauptbahnhof. Search again for your date and check the return trip too, particularly on a Saturday or a holiday.
Ask the ticket search for the complete journey to Parndorf Designer Outlet and check which legs the fare covers. The €27 offer on ÖBB’s outlet page is a shopping-voucher offer rather than a train fare quote; use the VOR fare service or ÖBB’s ticket search for current prices.
The train can work well as an alternative to a fixed shuttle return, as long as the connections suit you. You’ll also be carrying your purchases through the interchange.
Before you buy
We rented a car for one day for our December 2025 shopping trip, with my husband driving. The appeal of a car is control: you choose when to arrive and when to leave, and you’re not tied to a return departure.
McArthurGlen gives an indicative drive of 40 minutes from Vienna and advertises free parking in and around the centre. That estimate doesn’t include collecting the car, your exact starting point or traffic. If you rent an electric car, the centre lists a SMATRICS charging station on car park P1.
A car may suit a group sharing costs, someone planning several purchases or anyone who values choosing when to leave. The trade-off is the collection and return effort, along with needing a driver.
Compare the whole car cost
For two paying adults, compare the all-in car cost with the €52 shuttle example; for four, with €104.
This guide is for McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Parndorf, Designer Outlet Straße 1, 7111 Parndorf. Parndorf Fashion Outlet is a separate centre, so use the full name when checking directions and shops.
Check the special-hours calendar before you choose a date and book transport. Neither the ordinary timetable nor these exceptions should be assumed to apply to every future holiday. The shuttle doesn’t run on Sundays or public holidays.

A short list gives the day some direction without turning it into a race through every shop.
Before you go, pick the shops you most want to see from the official store directory and find them on the centre map. A short list gives the day some direction without turning it into a race through every shop. I wrote up the shops and prices in my Parndorf outlet shopping guide and what we bought in my outlet haul.
Check current offers if an extra sale matters to your visit. Dates, participating shops and exclusions belong to each promotion, and a discount seen in our December video isn’t a promise for your trip.
If bags start making the afternoon awkward, the centre lists lockers next to Samsonite and Breitling on its services page, as well as a paid luggage drop. Check the available space and conditions when you arrive.
For a shopping day within a Vienna holiday, you can keep Vienna as your base and return there afterwards. An overnight stay near the outlet is an option, not a requirement. If you stay in Vienna for a few days, I also wrote about the Schönbrunn Zoo, a date at Donauturm and an evening at the Prater, Strandcafé and 7Stern Bräu.
If proximity is your priority, Pannonia Tower Hotel Parndorf and ibis Styles Parndorf Neusiedler are two publicly listed options close to the outlet. We haven’t stayed at either, so check the pedestrian route, parking conditions and your room rate before booking.
We stayed at Luis von Weyden in Weiden am See. I liked how comfortably warm our room felt in the winter weather, and the breakfast selection was modest but more than enough for me. It’s a different base from a hotel beside the shops: the official location page gives its address as Triftstraße 12, 7121 Weiden am See, so plan the hotel-to-outlet journey separately, especially without a car.
Choose the journey that gives you the kind of shopping day you want: a direct shuttle with a set return, a train with workable bus connections, or a car that lets you set the pace.
