Melumé Skincare Review: What I Actually Use
I first tried Melumé in April 2024. My skin is normal but tends towards dryness, so I look for hydration, nourishment and care that supports my skin barrier.
Here’s what I actually use, the three products I keep finishing, and where the rest fits.
How I started
Melumé found me on Instagram and wrote to me by email, and offered me three products of my choice. I picked Daily Hydra Lock Resurface Essence, the water-free Niacinamide Galactomyces Serum and Super C-Cream. The ingredient lists caught my eye, and the niacinamide serum made me most curious. What I reach for most today turned out to be a different little group.
Hydrating Serum 8HA and Hydrating Cream 8HA
Everyday favourites.
I use them throughout the year, often in both my morning and evening skincare, and they’re among the products I finish most regularly. I reach for this pair when hydration and keeping my skin comfortable are the priority.
Maxi-Lip Filler Balm
People often ask what I’m wearing.
It keeps my lips moisturised for a long time without feeling sticky, and I like the slightly fuller look it gives them. With a lip pencil, this balm can be my whole lip combination.
Evening: niacinamide and peptide
Kept simple, with one targeted step.
I still use the niacinamide serum quite often, usually in the evening. I tend to follow it with a simple moisturiser, or one I choose for barrier support. Melumé lists 10% niacinamide in it; the water-free formula is what made me curious in the first place.
Power Peptide Micro Emulsion has a more targeted place: I use it sparingly around my forehead and nasolabial folds, and I’m careful with how much.
A peel now and then, a mask sometimes
What I love is the velvety feel afterwards.
The peel is at most about twice a month for me; my skin feels thin and soft, and I don’t feel the need to exfoliate more often. The Nightly Morphing Mask is the one in the dark-blue tube with a built-in brush. I leave it on overnight from time to time and love the glow I wake up to. On its product page, Melumé lists it as a retinal overnight mask.
The cleansing balm
When I want a slower ritual.
I usually prefer creamy or foaming textures for everyday cleansing. I reach for the balm when I want the cleansing step itself to feel a little more luxurious.
Also on my shelf
Melanin Spot Eraser is a later addition, and it wasn’t part of the twelve-product video. I apply a small amount to areas of pigmentation when I want targeted care, and I noticed my husband’s post-acne marks looking lighter when he used it. My mum has her own favourites from the brand: Power Peptide Micro Emulsion, Nightly Morphing Mask and Super C-Cream.
Where I’d start
For my normal-to-dry skin, I would start again with Hydrating Serum 8HA, Hydrating Cream 8HA and the lip balm. They’re the ones I use most consistently and keep finishing; the others have a place when I want something more specific.
My full Melumé video shows the products and their textures. It was filmed as a presentation of the wider line, so the “let’s begin our routine” at the start isn’t a prescribed full routine.
